Hi all. Just had my 3rd child via C-SEC. I'm not sure where this new pain has come from. It almost seems like I'm contracting and my insides wanna fall out. My midwife did say the uterus is shrinking, but wow when the pain comes it comes. What can I use to help with the pain. I'm taking painkillers, can I do anything else? Thank you

Afterpains ime can be worse than actual labour.

Inspectorslack · 26/01/2022 10:19

That’s afterpains I think.

They’re awful. Just take the painkillers.

Ahhhhhbisto · 26/01/2022 10:25

Afterpains. Mine got worse with each child. A hot water bottle or wheat bag should help.

shouldistop · 26/01/2022 10:30

I found the after pains with my second to be really bad, especially straight after a feed.
Are you keeping up with your pain killers?

IloveGod2 · 26/01/2022 10:47

Thanks all. OMG so hard giving birth lol. Yea taking pain killers and resting.

Try a mini electric blanket, did wonders for me x

ItsSnowJokes · 26/01/2022 11:57

After pains get more and more painful the more babies you have. Hardly any with my first, really severe ones with my second.

FusionChefGeoff · 26/01/2022 12:01

Just keep an eye out though as my afterpains disguised a womb infection Shock

Santahasjoinedww · 26/01/2022 12:01

After my 4th I was home the same day as was with 2.+3 but was actually convinced they had left one in! Omg I thought something must be really wrong.

IMissSunnyDays · 26/01/2022 13:11

Sounds like afterpains. They get worse with each pregnancy, I had my 3rd last year, it was like a rerun of the birth!! I was having to breathe like I was in labour. It's yet another one of those things people don't really mention about having babies...

IloveGod2 · 26/01/2022 13:12

Lol. Thanks all. I'm sure @santahasjoinedww it's just the one 😂. Yea @FusionChefGeoff omg thought the same but the pain has gone down a bit. Will take more painkillers and rest. My siste also said it gets worse with the number of kids. Never experienced this before. God help us. ❤️

@FusionChefGeoff sorry to hear this. What happen next for you? How did you finally know it was an infection

Sounds like after pains like previous posters have said, I got told after my first to keep
Paracetamol and ibuprofen next to me for the next couple of days. I missed one dose of them and I was lying on my bed shaking in pain, I generally thought I was in labour again😩

IloveGod2 · 27/01/2022 08:30

Thanks everyone..I appreciate the response. The pain has subsided although it appears here and there, hopefully will vanish very soon lol.
