C section or natural delivery due to previous surgery

Just look for some advice at I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I have had bowel cancer. I have had my whole bowel removed and have a midline scar but do not have a stoma. I’m booked in for an elective C section at 40 weeks but have said I would labour naturally if baby comes before then with a low threshold for a c section as they are slightly concerned they might find a lot of scar tissue so would want the C section to be too rushed.

I’m not wondering if I should have just gone for a C section at 39 weeks and not taken the chance to go into labour?

Problem is there is no way of telling if there will be lots of scar tissue and how tricky an emergency could be.

Am I safer just to have it planned with a consultant?

I don’t want to go over 40 weeks as it’s an IVF pregnancy and they have said they would induce me at 40 weeks.

Help it’s getting very close and I have 36 weeks appointment on Friday so still time to change my mind.

Anyone had any experience in this or a similar situation??
