It is normal. with dc4 my waters were described as a bulging bag, so low they would pop any time. i had 3 sweeps and nothing happened!!!!

thanks frazzled. so as long as it#s not loads should be ok did they induce you in the end? really want to avoid that if I can!

I've been induced 3 out of 4 times, i find it absolutely fine, very quick easy labours.

They recommend sex after a sweep to help labour!

keep an eye on bleeding though, it shouldnt be too much and should stop fairly quickly. I thought my bleeeding after sweep was normal and ended up being a placental bleed.

omg! I've never heard of that.

It was not much, and has pretty much stopped now, was mostly brown anyway so hopefully just due to the sweep. was your placental bleed red?
hmm well sex, not particularly up for it especially after a bit of a bleed, but I'm 10 days overdue so should be trying everything really... see if we can work up some xmas cheer!

and good to hear that induction is not always followed by nightmare births, thanks!

yes bleed was red and lasted 3 days. Lucky enough for me i mentioned it to the midwife the next day and was already in the hospital.
They showed me the "hole" in my placenta when dd2 was born, hmm lovely

good luck
