Hi all.... FTM here & just got an induction booked for tomorrow evening at the Princess Royal in Glasgow. (40 weeks, reduced movements and a big baby!)
Perhaps naively, I've been totally chilled throughout my pregnancy - until now! Shock I've done as much reading and prep as I can really, but at the end of the day it's all just down to personal experience I suppose. My nerves are beginning to take hold though & I'm now wishing the next 12 hours would hurry up and stand still at the same time.
Just rambling I suppose, but wondering if anyone has any recent experience at PRM? Or even just general induction as a FTM. Good or bad!

Hi @Mabelhc,

I've not had my baby yet but we're booked in at the same hospital. I've been up to the maternity triage and the wards and both the staff and the units were lovely. I think you'll be in good hands.

If you're going up out of hours, remember to go to the Wishart Street entrance.

Good luck!

@Mabelhc how did it go? Sorry I missed this thread. I had an induction at the Princess royal on Boxing Day. It went well...
I had a the gel inserted at 6.30pm. My husband had to leave at 8.30pm and then I started to feel a lot of pain not long after he left. By midnight I was in constant pain so called the midwives and got them to examine me and they said I was 4-5cm. I was also leaking waters by then. They quickly wheeled me up to the labour suite as I called my husband back and baby was born vaginally with gas and air by 5.24am! I was so convinced I'd be waiting for days for the induction to work. Might have been lucky and been about to go into labour anyway though so maybe it wasn't all the induction. I was 39 weeks at the time. I didn't think my first birth would be as quick as I know it can be days of labour for a lot of first time mums. Hope it all went well and your baby is safely here!
