Does this sound like i'm in labour?

Hi

Sounds ridiculous as this is my 2nd baby but I'm not sure if I'm in labour.

Since 1.30pm I've had a stitch in my bump and it's too sore to bend down to pick anything up.

I keep getting pains (approx every 10, 15 or 20 mins) that feel a bit more painful in my stomach and like I'm doing a big poo (sorry TMI).

With my DD I only had really bad backache then woosh my waters went so I'm not sure if this is labour and should call the inlaws (live 1 hr away) to come over just incase or just sit tight for the night?

Thanks

Not sure - I was in agony - but did feel like I needed to do a big poo with each contraction!
Very exciting though!

When is your edd?

It sounds like it may be very early labour and you should carry on as normal. Have a good soak in shower or bath and have an early night with dh giving you a nice soothing massage. Get to sleep and if labour isn't about to start you will sleep through. Otherwise stronger contractions will wake you up!! Eat, drink and eliminate regularly, Stay warm and relaxed.

I didn't get the poo sensation either till it was pushing time with either preg.
I used to get a stitch in my ginormous bump with DS2 though, but that was almost all the time from 5m onwards...
With DS2 contractions started at 2 mins apart and a minute long so we went in and he was out within 4 hours, start to finish.
I had the radiating backache from about 7pm with the contractions over the top from 8pm onwards.
With DS2 I knew I was in labour.

you could be in the latent, so relax for the evening, as said take a long soak in a bath with lavender oil (if you have any) and get as much rest as possible

ocomeALLYebabies · 22/12/2007 20:14

sorry meant to say latent phase

I think you should rest up as i reckon you have some more time yet and would second getting some kip while you can as things could speed up a bit later on.

Thanks ladies

I'm 5 days over due. Still unsure if they are contractions, don't feel really painful at all (and I am a pain wimp) so probably just early labour [hopeful]

Inlaws have come round to stay the night as it's -5 outside and just in case things progress I didn't want to be calling them out in the early hours with an hours drive to get to us.

Oh dear I feel like I've panicked and that it's going to be days!
