Best Midlands / Staffordshire birthing centres

Hi,

I’m nearly 8 weeks pregnant and starting to think about where to give birth. Ideally I would like to use a birthing centre if there are no complications, I’m considering Good Hope, George Elliot and Derby. I live in Tamworth, do you have any good or bad experiences in any of these? I’ve not considered burton as it doesn’t look like they have a birthing centre and I really don’t want to be in the main hospital if I can help it.

Good hopes MLU only opened last year so there won't be many reviews on that, burtons MLU is in Lichfield if you have considered that? I have 2 friends who were booked in there, one had a great birth, the other one did have to be transferred to Burton for an EMCS as there was meconium in her waters.

Sorry I've only just seen Lichfield is closed so what I've written is irrelevant!

Is Royal Stoke too far? I gave birth in the birth centre in December and it was such a good experience. I had to stay in for 2 nights and was able to stay in my own private room the whole 3 days
