34 weeks, waters gone, no labour

Can anyone share their experiences. I am 34 weeks tomorrow. This morning I woke up this morning soaking wet. Have lost a lot more fluid since. Waters gone but cervix still closed and whilst I've been having some period like pains there's been no Contractions. I'm very confused.

Theyve said they're gonna keep me in for 48 hours and then have me monitored every 4 days and scans every 2 weeks. This sounds very little too me and terrified of still birth.

Anyone had any experiences with this and can tell me what the outcome was?

Thanks

It is a worrying time for you. It may be that your labour will start in the next few days, but if not the need is to balance the benefit of maturing inside for a few more weeks (aiming for 37 weeks) against the chance of infection. The very important thing is that you recognised and reported this so that you can have extra care and monitoring. If there is any concern about baby’s movements, or you have any sign of infection developing it will be advised that labour should be induced straight away. This is a time that induction is absolutely appropriate.
Hope all goes well for you.

This happened to me, my waters went at 29+4, I was kept in for 48 hours and set home after my 2 steroid injections and 10 days antibiotics.
After the 10 day course I started contracting, went to triage who finally examined me and confirmed I was in labour, sent to labour ward and they gave me a magnesium drip as the baby was so early, which then stopped the contractions.
Long story short I gave birth at 31+4, baby spent 5 weeks in nicu,
34 weekers generally did well in nicu and were out much sooner than us, but any concerns ring triage I think I was there every other day in the 10 days before I was admitted because I was so anxious about the whole situation!
