Infected section scar bathing/dressing

Hi all!

I'm on a weeks course of flucloxacillin for an infected c-section incision. I'll attach the picture below.. (apologies in advance 😂)

I like to let it air for at least half an hour each day but due to postpartum discharge I still have to wear a pad and pants.. what underwear am I best wearing through the night?

Also, can I get a bath? Obviously without any sops or bubble bath or am I best just sticking to showers.. I just really miss my baths 😂

There's also a slight overhang so do I need to lift this for it to air? I'm worried about it opening if I lift 🙄

I found great big apple catchers good, and used a big sanitary towel on my wound.

I also found a gentle sprinkle of talc when getting dry really helped too

We'll I realise now my c section was infected last year and I didn't get any treatment for it! No wonder it took so long to heal!! But that is a side!
I expect you'd be advised to let it heal a bit more before bathing. I'd dry it gently with a coolish hairdryer after showering.

I had this. Inadine dressings with a big dressing over the top from the chemist worked well. I couldn’t leave it open as it stuck to clothes. Big pants over top and make sure waistbands don’t rub it, my maternity jeans with over bump bit rubbed and I think caused it to open.
