Section due to medical condition

So I am booked for a c section on 22nd December due to medical condition.

This will be via GA as I can't get a spinal block. This is my first and I am nervous but more excited than anything.

My question is what are the chances of me being home for Christmas?

My medical condition hopefully shouldn't effect my length of stay all being well.

I had an emergency section on the 21st April late in the evening. I wanted to go home the next day but they wanted to keep me for a minimum of 24 hours (section performed at 10pm) so I stayed until the 23rd.

Good luck!

I had a c section on 23rd and home on Christmas Day afternoon, so quite likely, hope it all goes well xx

If you are heading home, just make sure you don't try and do too much and that you've got someone to wait on you.

Good luck with the CS. I bet you can't wait to meet LO now Smile

Thank you all that sounds promising.

Yes can't wait now it's going to be a long week waiting Smile

With both of mine I came out on day 3

mooloop · 14/12/2021 20:38

I had an emergency CS at 10am and went home at about 6pm the following day Smile I was ready to go home earlier on in the afternoon, but needed to wait for the paediatrician to be available to give DS his check over. Good luck! Thanks

In my hospital they aim to send people home 24 hours after a C-section.
I'm not sure if the general anaesthetic changes anything, but hope it all goes well.

I also have a section booked for 22nd 🙊

I'm hoping we're allowed home 23rd but I know I won't have any control but still keeping fingers crossed! I've got GD so only thing that potentially holds us in (if everything goes as planned) is baby's blood sugar checks!

Best of luck 🤩

I also had a Caesarean section with GA due to a medical condition. I think there would be a very good chance of you getting home for Christmas Day with your little one.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your bub!

Really hoping we get regular updates @lauranug & @growingmybaby Smile

Just an update (I was the user GrowingMyBaby) - I love an updated post!!

Had baby boy 22nd Dec 9.40am 8lb 6oz and was ready to be discharged next morning!! Didn't get out till the afternoon but was just due to waiting for the dr to do the rounds! He's now 16 weeks and thriving! My recovery from my section was a breeze, albeit painful the first 7 days but no issues/infections thankfully!

Hope all okay with you OP & everyone else!

I had an emcs ,put under because of medical condition preventing me being able to have any injections in my spine.

I was only kept in because of issues with my blood pressure and an infection otherwise I'd have been allowed home the next day. I ended up having the csection on the Monday and out on Wednesday night.
