Thrush after giving birth

I'm 4 weeks postpartum and have got vaginal thrush. The doctor prescribed me the pessary and cream but I am terrified to use the pessary. She said it's ok to use but I've had stitches and I'm still sore there, absolutely terrified to put anything up there! Has anyone else used a pessary so soon after birth? Was it ok?

Can you use the oral tablet instead?

Hi,

I am 7 weeks postpartum. I am feeling tighting, burning, itching, white discharge but on my panty I see yellowish. My clotorious is very very sensitive and it is difficult to sit if I am lying down. I talked to the GP and she said it could be thrush. She prescribed me pessary and cream. I tried the pessary, the itchiness has gone but the tightness is still there.

Have you got the same symptoms? She did not checked and took the swab so I am bit concern if it is really a thrush.

Get the Fluconazole 150mg oral tablet instead - obviously check with the pharmacist re medication / if you’re breastfeeding first. I find that works much better than the pessary anyway.
