I've been up since midnight and the contractions are now evry 8 mins, I'm having a slight panic that I haven't got everything I need and have completely forgotten when to call the mw - this is dc#2 and last time I was told to go to hosp if pain was unbearable/waters broken/couldn't feel baby move - does the same apply at home? am 39 + 5 you have thought I'd have asked my mw by now

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would probably phone the midwife and speak to her, even if it's simply to warn her that she's likely to be needed later!

I had a homebirth with my second, and was also doubting about when to phone the midwife, because contractions were very irregular. I wakled up and down the stairs a few times, got stuff ready, made myself a cup of coffee etc.

Good luck!

hi, well just after I posted it speeded up, then ds woke up so had to get him sorted, that helped get contractions to every 5 mins so I called and mw came out, I was 5cm dilated - ds2 arrived at 4.07pm at home - fantastic experience, thanks for your posts, sorry I never had chance to look!
