What do afterpains feel like?

Do they feel like period pains?? I've had a tummy ache all day and the pain is like having a bad period!!

Ouuuuch!!!!

and feed on that side as much as possible, in differesnt positions. I took to my bed (when possible) when I had mastitis, with my baby next to me.
