What signs did you have before labour started?!

Nearly 39 weeks and getting impatient! Lightening crotch is real... Blush

I had backache for a few days before my labour started, and I lost my mucous plug bit by bit. I also had some gentle period-like pains. I hope this helps — good luck OP! Smile

I lost my mucus plug on the 8th, then had a day of nothing, then on the 10th labor started by just very slow building contractions that went from a little "ooo" feeling to full on contractions over the course of about 12 hours, pushed for 2 hours, then my DS was born on the 11th 😊

Second time, I had a day or two of twinges where it felt like she was jabbing me in the cervix. Then I started to get this feeling at regular intervals (maybe three/four in an hour) and it progressed quite rapidly from there.

First time, my waters broke with a spectacular gush in the middle of a restaurant, just like the midwife at the birthing classes said only happened on TV... 🙄

With ds1, none. Happily eating my dinner and waiting for the news to start when my waters burst and regular contractions started immediately. I didn't even have my maternity bag packed because I was only 38 weeks and first babies are always late Hmm.

Ds2, had been a bit grump all day but that's not really a sign when you are 42 weeks pregnant though and you expect you'll be induced, I suppose. Yeah, nothing again really, just started contractions on the evening.

Ds3 I was apologising for coming to the maternity unit too early as the light but regular contractions had actually just stopped...I was 8cm.

So, upshot, there may not be any signs of particular note.

With my first my waters broke in middle of the night with no warning, contractions started straight away and baby was born 19 hours later.

With my second it was my due date but felt absolutely fine. All of a sudden I had a very intense contraction and baby was born under two hours later.
