Postpartum bleeding or period?

Hello ladies,

Please don’t judge me for this silly post, I am coming up to six weeks PP and today after a lot of cramping & backache I started bleeding heavy red blood.

I was bleeding red blood again after two weeks post c section after it seemed to have tapered away but it was back to brown and light discharge the last week.

I’ve also been feeling warmer like when aunt flow has arrived.

I am due at the doctors on Thursday afternoon for my six week c section check and my son is having his six week tests performed so will run this by the GP.

Only reason I’m a little nervous is, I noticed some larger almost clots which I hadn’t had much since day three PP and me being an absolute d**knead I stopped the anti clotting shots once I left hospital.

I do know that it’s only a cause for concern if it’s larger than a 50 pence piece but it is getting close to that in size.

I know, before you all say it, I should have finished the injections but my son was born early (not an excuse) and was small as I had issues with my placenta and, I only cared about him gaining weight, making sure his lungs and everything developed and that he wasn’t scared without me when they took him away from me.

Are you bfeeding?

"Aunt flow"?
Have we gone back to the 1950s without me noticing?🤔

C Section with first, EBF and my period came back prior to my six week check - Doctor was unsure but it was definitely a period so it is possible. Happened with DC2 as well, which was VBAC, EBF as well and period back after 5 weeks!

So sounds fairly normal to me!

@LifeIsBusy no, formula fed.

@MrsFin very helpful comment, thank you.

@Noodledoodledoo thank you, glad it sounds normal, I’ll still check with the GP, funny how I have had periods for over two decades and forgot what a period feels like lol.

Just an update, it’s my period, my tell tale chin spot and cravings are back.

I guess I should not look a gift horse in the mouth, as I turn 40 in February and my mother had early menopause at 28 I’m thankful I still have my periods and manage to even have my first child six weeks ago.
