Yep. One induction which was incredibly quick and ruined me, so number 2 and yet to be born number 3 are c sections.

username72 · 08/11/2021 20:29

Hey, were you born by elective c section WakeUpLockie? Sorry to hear about your first birth, best of luck with the c section for number 3! X

Yep. What’s the correlation? 😄 I was breech so not to do with genetically narrow hips or anything (I wish!)

Newmum29 · 08/11/2021 20:32

Both me and my brother were electives (sister was first and forceps.. go figure). I had a natural birth, sister had 2 emergency Caesars. No correlation. I was certain I’d end up needing one and didn’t.

WakeUpLockie · 08/11/2021 20:33

My first was forceps - no time to opt for section!

username72 · 08/11/2021 20:33

Ah interesting!! Haha - no correlation I don't think!! Just a question that popped into my head so thought I'd put it out there to the mn community!! Thanks for replying 😁

I was born by emcs ( of the crash variety), my first was emcs ( just a normal within the hour one) for being too big to exit, my second should have been an elcs but was an unplanned vbac.

I was an elective c section baby after my mum had a placental abruption in her previous pregnancy. I gave birth last year, it was a relatively straightforward vaginal birth.

LightsS0bright · 08/11/2021 20:41

Both me and DH were born by C-section, DS was a water birth at home

CherryRedDMs · 08/11/2021 20:51

Since any non-emergency section is considered elective, I was born by elective section at 34 w because the placenta was failing slowly and I would have been stillborn otherwise. I had my son by elective section at 34 w as he would have been stillborn otherwise but for a completely different and unrelated reason.

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 08/11/2021 20:56

I was born early 90s by a brought forward ELCS (classed as EMCS I think) after mum developed preeclampsia.

My firstborn was born after crash (DD out within 5 minutes of signing consent) EMCS. Second born was technically an EMCS because I went into spontaneous labour with DS a fortnight before his planned ELCS date 😅

RhubarbFairy · 08/11/2021 20:59

I was an emergency section. My younger brother was an elective one.
It corrolates for me. DS1 was emergency, DS2 was elective.
Both elected the second time due to experience the first time.

rainbowandglitter · 08/11/2021 20:59

I was an emergency section. I had ds naturally.

RhubarbFairy · 08/11/2021 21:01

Also, I was a crash EMCS. My mother almost died and was in Intensive Care for a while afterwards.
I was okay immediately afterwards but developed an infection within the week and had to be readmitted for IV antibiotics.

amymel2016 · 08/11/2021 21:03

I was elective c-section, I’ve given birth twice, the first with forceps and the second with no intervention.

My sister was an emergency section and have given birth 3 times with no intervention on any of them.

TheFabledSnake · 08/11/2021 21:05

I was elective as my brother was an emergency. My daughter was an emergency section

ExPatHereForAChat · 08/11/2021 21:16

Born by elective as I'm a multpiple, had an EMCS due to failure to progress.
You're just going to get a load of random replies OP

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 08/11/2021 21:23

I was born by electronic section. My dd was a homebirth.

beekeepershat · 08/11/2021 21:25

Yes I was but I've had all vaginal births for my kids.

username72 · 08/11/2021 21:26

Ah I know, was just interested to hear people's experiences! Thanks everyone for replying 😁

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️ I was breech so my mum asked for a C section, then turned out I was so tangled up in my cord that she would've needed one anyway! My wee boy was 12 days late so I was induced and then his heart rate dropped so emergency c section for him! Turned out he was too tangled up in his cord to come out too!

My mum did have my two younger sister vaginally though, however they were horrendous births by all accounts. Why are you wondering?

FoggySpecs · 08/11/2021 21:36

Scheduled 10am elective c-section in the mid 70s.

DC1 Emergency c-section, DC2 VBAC.
