Preterm labour

Hello,

I'm looking for some reassurance if possible! I'm now 33+1 and I was admitted on Sunday night for preterm labour. They gave me steroid injections and some anti hypertensive drugs ( oral nifedipine and an injection I forget the name of) to prepare the baby in case but also try and prevent the labour from progressing.

I was allowed to go home yesterday and told to be on bed rest until my next appointment a week away.

Today I've been getting random contractions through the day, particularly if I get up and go to the bathroom or when the baby is particularly active, then this evening they ramped up the frequency, so I came back in to be monitored and they are happening every 3-4 minutes.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you able to get to full term? Did you keep getting contractions daily until you delivered or were you able to get them under control?

My little one was born at 30 weeks at 2lb. He is now a very healthy, clever, argumentative funny 10 year old. I hope your baby cooks a little longer for you x

Thank you both, they seem to have got the contractions under better control now, not as frequent or painful. Really hope I can keep him inside for a few more weeks!
