Low fluid and needing induced- Help!

Hi! Posting this here also.

So I've had a bit of a blip in my pregnancy from around 32 weeks. First of all baby's growth had slowed ended up being monitored for a few weeks. Anyway turned out after several other scans the growth has never slowed. Was at the hospital yesterday for a scan now 39 weeks but unfortunately there is very little fluid around the baby so they said they really need baby out in the next few days.

I had a sweep yesterday but nothing has happened so booked in for induction tomorrow. I am beyond terrified. This is my second baby and first birth was spontaneous. Has anyone got experience with low fluid and needing induced early?

I have no advice and I am in the same boat, though my induction is booked for Friday. Sweep couldn’t happen as my cervix though flat was completely closed.

Offering you a huge hand hold! I am completely terrified too.

@Algebraicyourleg I am sorry you are going through this too. Yesterday at the sweep the doctor said I was 2cm dilated and cervix is soft but long. So it's been over 24 hours now and obviously hasn't worked. My fear is needing hooked up to the drip or a CS. Have you got low fluid also?

@Fawn68 mine started because of massive differences in the growth scans and now massive differences in the fluid. Last week it was just over 2cm but this week it’s over 8cm so I don’t think they know what’s going on!

My cervix is flat and soft (she said fulled effaced) but no dilation…very annoying as I’d rather not have another section. Had twins in Jan 2020 and can’t imagine the recovery while dealing with them too!

Doing everything I can to help kick start labour. Clary sage bath tonight is my plan. After a curry and then pineapple with custard (haha).

@Algebraicyourleg fingers crossed for you. I think the fluid yesterday on mines was 2.5 or something but actually not sure and they didn't say to me. Yes I have been walking lots and cleaning the house but can't see things kicking off before tomorrow morning 😞 how many weeks are you?

@Fawn68 39 weeks. How about you?

I’m tidying all the clothes I’ve got, but I need to put things into the attic and then actually make up the nursery furniture. I’ve been too superstitious to do it until now. I’ve got the isofix ready to go into the car too…just need to actually get my act together and do it.

@Algebraicyourleg 39 weeks also Smile Please stay in touch, I have to call my hospital in the morning to make sure they have a bed for me!

Just an update I've been having a few very very mild irregular cramps the past hour that just come and go. But am losing quite a lot of mucus plug now. Going to go a walk and see if I can keep things moving!

@Fawn68 good luck! I’ve lots of discharge but no mucus plug.
I have to call on Friday morning and hope they have a bed for me.
Hopefully won’t be making that phone call and it’ll be to the delivery suite instead because I go spontaneously!

Hi! Just another update- came to the hospital for induction at 10:30 this morning but ended up not needing it! Baby boy born just after 4pm. All very quick. Good luck and fingers crossed for Friday x
