Labour after Covid

Hi,

I'm looking for any experiences of giving birth after having covid.

I had covid a couple of months ago, and since then get out of breath very easily. A walk around the block leaves me out of breath and exhausted.

This is my second baby and I'm due to give birth next month. I am getting worried that I won't have the energy for labour and wonder if anyone has been in the same position?

@kensington09 I had covid in august and due in 3 weeks I'm fairly breathless but put it down to third trimester and lungs squished , not covid, no worse than third trimester with my last baby

@mrssunshinexxx thanks for replying. I feel like my breathlessness is much worse than last time round. Last pregnancy I was still really active with long walks right up until the end. This time short walks are exhausting me. So much so that I am even thinking about a c-section which I wouldn't have considered before, with this being another low risk pregnancy. I'm just getting so scared that I'll go into labour naturally and when it comes to it not physically have the energy.

I'm glad it isn't as bad for you, and good luck with your upcoming labour Thanks

Thanks @kensington09 hmm I was v active in my last pregnancy literally walked 5 miles the day I went into labour but this pregnancy has been much harder in all ways so I don't put it down to covid but maybe I'm wrong ? I had an section albeit an emergency one and the recovery was utter shit so I would defo advice a long hard think x

That's the thing with the recovery time, I don't want it to be any longer than it needs to be, and was lucky last time, out of hospital within 5hrs and recovered well.

Maybe it is second pregnancy?! Sickness and tiredness has been worse this time. It's so hard to know what's for the best!

You need to speak to your obstetrician.
Also, breathlessness could be a sign of a PE so I’d get that checked oir
