When to call the hospital!

Hi all,

FTM here so looking for some advice as I don't want to call in too early and get sent home.
40+1 and had a sweep at 11am this morning. Midwife said I was about 2cm long (?) and that my cervix was medium (not hard and not soft).
I started having period type cramps about 3pm.
Started to get stronger about 6pm so have been monitoring every so often on a contraction app. The app keeps telling me to go to hospital but from what I've read it's 3 contractions in ten mins lasting a minute each.
At the moment they're coming in fairly consistently every 4.15 mins and lasting a minute. Some are tolerable, some are pretty painful.
Currently sat in the bath. No hope of sleeping (2nd night I won't have slept on the Trot!) as when they hit they are quite painful and I doubt I would sleep though them!!

Any advice?
When have you been told to head to hospital?

Thanks

Ring the delivery unit and have a chat to one of the midwives. I think from the sounds of things they might tell you to go in.

Good luck!

I rang my maternity unit 4 times before they thought I should go in. I was told to ring anytime, they're better to know you're in labour too as then they can plan and have an idea of potential admissions.
