Granulation wound

Hello! I gave birth to my dd 16 weeks ago and had a second degree tear, it’s resulted in a granulation wound and I’ve been given Ovestin cream for it. It’s still red and raw, really hurts, anyone had this before? What’s the healing time like ?
Feeling a bit alone and sad

Hey
I had granulation when i had my little boy and remember being given the cream. I can’t remember how long it took, think it was probably about six weeks but i kept under consultant care for quite a while after. It did work in the end you just have to persevere, you will get there though trust me.
I had such a rough time i never thought i would get back to normal but your body does heal x

@Bunny2607
Thank you so much for your reply, very comforting to know someone else who had gone through this seems the internet is lack of info and there hasn’t been any support about it

I had granulated tissue burned off with silver nitrate

@dementedpixie
Was it still red and raw doing that ? I’ve seen some past posts about using silver nitrate but not sure in what state the granulation wound is in
Mine is like the under layer of skin is showing, it’s very sore

They’re going to cut mine off if it doesn’t fall off. It’s still bleeding so unlikely

I had this after a small tear was left to heal naturally (and didn't!). I wasn't offered the cream - when it became obvious it wasn't healing and it was making me miserable the GP referred me straight to silver nitrate. Mine was red raw and very sore when it was done. It was over in less than 5 mins, I barely felt a thing (despite the fact I was already in agony with it!) and the relief was immediate. Never had any bother with it since.
I would really push for the silver nitrate if you can. I remember how painful it was and how exhasuted I was with it, on top of all the new baby palarva it really dragged me down, I bounced back almost overnight once it was sorted so hang in there, it will get better!
