Could it be a show if it's not bloody?

I'm 39+3 and the last two mornings I've had what I think could be a bit of a show. It is clear gloop/gunk (for want of a better word ) with no blood/pinkness/brown in it at all. It is only there in the morning and I don;t get any more during the day.

Just wondering if I can allow myself to get a little bit excited or dismiss it as generally gloopiness of late pregnancy?

i had this -it is an early show - and it was another week or two before i gave birth

it is a good sign, but it still may be a while

ooh thanks belgo - I suppose that means I am allowed to be a very little bit excited

Ive been getting this for the past week, but assumed it was the remains of sperm after our nightly attempts of inducing labour....

I had a clear show, a week before i had my DD. it got heavier as the week went on, but never really got bloody, even the day i was in labour with her

skidaddle · 07/12/2007 23:40

that sounds very encouraging, lulu - hope same happens for me

vannah - no such nightly attempts in our household!!

yes it could be a show, i had exactly the same the week before i gave birth on and off, became a little blood streaked the day i gave birth but this isn't always the case, it was clear sometimes and also tinged green a bit like snot sometimes , it's a good sign but hard to tell how long it'll be, at least your progressing though, good luck

hmm still getting it every morning but not green, pink, brown or any other colour - it's been 5 days now so thinking it is just gunk... 40 weeks today as well

mine was like the jelly you get in pork pies put me off them for life. it started clear and then when i had one closer to giving birth it was pink/red. didnt have it every day though only twice i think. you sure its not just extra discharge?

skidaddle · 11/12/2007 20:45

yes that's exactly what it's like minspugs!! Luckily for me I never liked mince pies anyway - will await change in colour...

vannah-same here.
I also thought it could just be general "late pregnancy" discharge.I'm 39+4 and have been having really stong braxton hicks for the past two weeks.

skidaddle · 13/12/2007 22:09

oops I meant pork pies, not mince pies - a how that looked like mince pies would be truly worrying!!

Well had a big show this morning and now having regular-ish contractions and just had a bloody show as well - how exciting!!
