My vagina looks different after birth?!?

I’ve had a look down below since giving birth (I am now 5 weeks postpartum) and I am concerned because I feel like the length of the inside of my vagina is shorter and looks like I can see either muscle or my cervix or something pink and squishy low down (for example before I gave birth I’d say I had a good few inches of empty space up there whereas now feels like an inch of that!). Is that normal?

You should have a 6wk post partum check up to make sure all is ok down there? I did, but my youngest is now 17yo, so not sure if you still get one. Anyway, if you do, point it out then, if you don’t, schedule one soon because it might be a prolapse.

I would assume its a slight prolapse?

I would get it checked out but i think it takes a good while for everything to completely go back to they way it was before, i know they say to wait 6 weeks before sex but I remember thinking that was far too soon for me

GP probably won't examine your vagina unless you mention it as an issue, and you definitely should!
