Stalled Labour

Hi everyone,
So I'm currently 36+2 (baby is measuring big but I'm convinced my dates are wrong by at least 12days and sonographer confirmed this on Friday but obviously can't change dates now) with baby number 4 and have been contracting regularly since 9.15pm last night.

I'm in hospital and I was examined around 3am and was told I was 1cm.
I'm still having the contractions but they aren't getting closer together so the midwives want to keep an eye on me because things can obviously change quickly.
They will check me again later to see what's going off.
Has this happened to anyone else before and did you go into full labour or did everything just stop?
I'll also add my waters haven't broken and I've got no blood or mucus plug. I also only gave birth to my last baby 10months ago so was told labour may start early with this baby.
Thanks xx

Still in hospital, been here since 2.30am yesterday morning.
Still haven't been seen by a doctor. Midwives mentioned giving me steroids for baby and that my pulse is very fast. Contractions havent progressed but they won't examine me incase it makes me sore????
Has anyone else had similar please?
I'm torn between just going home or waiting for a doctor cause who knows when it could be.
