Stem cell banking during Covid

My NHS antenatal clinic has a lot of adverts for stem cell banking and I was wondering how it actually worked in practice. Has anyone here done it? Does the maternity ward allow the phlebotomist to collect the cord/blood? Does this phlebotomist count as one of your visitors for Covid restrictions? (I’d rather have my DH throughout rather than this random person for half an hour). My DH has a condition that is apparently stem cell treatable, so I am quite keen to collect both for his and DC’s sake.
