Hard belly post partum

Hello,

I just had my 3rd baby 5 days ago via ELCS.

My tummy is still very much pregnant looking and feels very hard. Has anyone else experienced this? Will my tummy go down soon?

My tummy went back to normal within days after my previous 2, and it felt squishy, not hard- both vaginal deliveries. I did have an element of DR after my second though, which took a while to recover from fully.

Thank you

My belly took flipping aaaages to deflate after my c section. I think about 6 weeks. It did get there in the end though!

Thank you for replying @RavenclawsRoar.

I know it's a bit early to start worrying about my tummy it's just it's weird how hard it feels. Did your tummy feel hard or soft after your csection?

Also the pain has been immense and I can barely walk!!

To be honest I didn't really feel it much because it was tender/ sore. Do you have any bruising? I was recommended to take arnica after mine along with prescription painkillers and definitely keep up with paracetamol and ibuprofen. If you are really struggling get back in touch with the midwives/GP and see if you can get some stronger pain relief.

After my second tummy went back quickly. Third had destroyed me. Elasticated waists are my friend!

Hasn't the midwife checked you in the days since you had your baby? If your belly isn't as it was with other births then I would definitely ask for a check up.

Congratulations on your new baby!

I'm currently 4 weeks post csection and my tummy feels tender. I know what you mean about the hardness. It could be caused by the soreness. Took me weeks to start moving about again normally.

The midwife should feel around your tummy during her visits and tell you if it feels normal or not. Mine doesn't feel hard but it's definitely still pretty huge. Not as huge as it was in the first week but it's noticeable. My DS asked if I was having another baby, ha! 😩🤣
Takes a few weeks to deflate. This is my second csection and the first one didn't take this long though.
Congratulations on your baby and good luck x
