Is this a show? (TMI Warning)

Morning everyone!

I'm 40+4 today and yesterday i had a sweep. All afternoon/evening i was having tightenings across my tummy, as well as brown spotting. By late evening, the tummy tightenings had subsided and the spotting was almost non-existent so i went to bed. I have woken up with no contractions/tightenings/BHs etc. But when i went to the loo, there was quite a bit of brown spotting again and then a further wipe revealed loads of brown mucus. A bit later, after another wee and after jumping on DP, i had another load of mucus but this was brown as well as tinted with pink here and there.

Does this sound like a show? Sorry for the TMI!!!

I've already got a DS but he's 17 now and my waters went with him so i knew i was in labour but this time i feel absolutely clueless!

TIA!

What's it like - just waiting? I mean, what does one do during this time? (Shall i change my nickname to 1sttimemum ?)

RGPargy · 01/12/2007 19:15

LOL!! The waiting is VERY frustrating!!! It could be hours or it could be days. Best thing to do is to try and keep busy or (like me) watch crap on the TV to pass the time and order Pizza for dinner.

OK, think i've just had another show. This time it was smaller, but deffo clear and pink tinged, almost like a "fresh" show, so to speak.

RGPargy · 01/12/2007 23:21

Getting a bit niggly in the tummy now too, but not what i'd call contractions.

I got my show about 11 hours before I gave birth (the rest came out when he was almost here- altogether there was MASSES of it, what seemed like a handful- there's some TMI for ya!) so it might not be too long.

A home water birth sounds like a lovely way to meet your little daughter, better than my birth, spreadeagled and wheezing on a bed with twelvetyfour gawping midwives and doctors and a fainting dp! LOL

RGPargy · 02/12/2007 10:11

lol JATGB!!!!! Well if there is handfuls of it, i've got a fair way to go yet coz everything's stopped now and i'm back to feeling "normal" again. No show, no tummy ache, NOTHING!!!

AAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!

My DS was born with me flat on my back in a labour room etc and the thought of that again just gives me the horrors!!!

hope you're ok, RGPargy

RGPargy · 02/12/2007 18:28

Thanx Belgo. I'm fine, if not a little frustrated and fed up!

Had another show this morning, quite big in comparison to the last one i think. Still showing now too as well as having a period-type ache in my tummy, so i'm really hoping "this is it".

Hopefully there'll be another live labour thread coming up soon!!!
