C section pain - is this normal?

I had a c section 4 weeks ago, healing up nicely- definitely no signs of infection. Only since yesterday I've started having pain, it feels like severe period pain. I am still bleeding too - not excessively bleeding but there's a consistent flow still that hasn't particularly eased up any.

Is this normal? Should it still be sore/ bleeding 4 weeks on? I know the uterus shrinks etc but google seems to suggest its more in the first 10 days this happens... not sure if I should go see gp sooner than my 6 week check or if I'm just worrying over nothing. Can anyone put my mind at ease? Thanks in advance!

Mine was many years ago, so the details are misty, but I do remember much more pain than I expected, which went on for much longer than I expected.
I'm in awe of women who have multiple caesareans.
1 was enough for me!

Regular Iburofen really helps full the pain, instead of taking it when in pain

Rest up? It does get better and maybe sign you are doing too much

Thanks for your replies, I'm wondering if my walks are too much - I'm doing a gentle walk round corner from mine to cafe every couple days to get out house and for little one to sleep (he loves the movement of the pram). I didn't think it was very far though but I wonder it it's too soon for it. Hoping it goes away soon, my check up is 2 weeks away so if it's still this sore by then I'm sure the gp will suggest something. Thanks again 😊

I’d get seen sooner rather than wait 2 weeks. The loss should have slowed and gone lighter in colour in the last 4 weeks. You might not have a section scar infection but the pain and heavy flow could be an indication of a uterine infection.

I have had three sections. The second sounds like yours and I had an infection so needed antibiotics. With the other two by 4 weeks I was completely back to normal. You have nothing to lose by going to the GP. Also with checking your iron levels if you are still bleeding.
