Hind waters breaking?

Hi all, I’m 38 weeks pregnant today with my 2nd baby

I’ve been having lots of discharge over the last few weeks so been wearing panty liners constantly but last night I got up off of the sofa and felt ‘damp’

I went to the loo and it was clear and just wet. I took the pad off and found my knickers were damp/a bit wet not long after. I laid down for a while and then went to the toilet for a wee, when I finished and stood up about 4-5 drips of clear liquid trickled down my leg onto the floor.

I’ve had nothing that I’ve noticed since but wondered if this had happened to anybody else?

My lower abdomen feels painfully dull and baby has been moving in ways she hasn’t before (limbs REALLY sticking out and quite painful)

I’ve read about infections etc if waters have gone so got myself a little spooked but don’t want to waste the midwives time since it’s not happened since.

Any advice / similar stories are appreciated Smile

Call the hospital/midwife team now.

They will most likely bring you in for a check up, so don’t worry. But DO ring them right now.

I think you should call your midwife and explain as you have done here. xx

Good luck! Bear

Exactly this happened to me. Yes it was my waters and I was induced that day as didnt want to risk infection. Good luck! Ps my induction was fine and no pain killers needed 3 hour labour.

My waters broke as a light trickle with both my DC's. Go and see your midwife if your unsure x

Any news op? Been thinking about you today, hope you’re ok!

slpx · 17/08/2021 19:43

Thank you all! I went in and waited 4 hours to be seen Shock she did a speculum I had a lot of discharge and she put it down to that however I’m still not overly convinced as I’ve never had discharge so watery/colourless before. However I’ve come home, it’s been about 3/4 hours since I had the speculum exam and I’ve just had a gush of bright red blood. I rang back to ask and she didn’t seem concerned and told me to change my pad and see what it’s like in an hour Confused

Oh wow!

I don’t know what the blood means, do you feel ok?

AmyFl · 17/08/2021 20:42

That does not sound ok. Someone will be along soon who knows more than me, but I think you should get seen soon, like now.

FakeTanandProsecco · 17/08/2021 20:47

If you are actively bleeding and it's not a mucousy show you need to phone back and get seen. Hope all is ok OP

Disneycharacter · 17/08/2021 21:04

Call them and insist on going in to have a check and CTG. blood is not normal. I won't relate my story, but insist you are checked.

Disneycharacter · 17/08/2021 21:06

Bloody midwives are the last word in complacency

slpx · 18/08/2021 10:55

Thank you all again, I rang back after a few hours because the blood was still coming away and I stayed in overnight and will be again tonight. They’ve said if I have any more bleeding today/tonight I will be offered induction tomorrow. They have no idea what’s causing the bleeding but found clots on my cervix Confused

So glad you went back in! Goodness me you must have been so worried

Have you been induced? How are you doing today?

Atalune · 18/08/2021 13:38

Sorry. Just re read and you could be induced tomorrow?

Hope you’re ok.

slpx · 18/08/2021 14:03

Im okay thank you, this pregnancy hasn’t been the nicest! But yep could be induced tomorrow
