Has anybody had experience giving birth here recently, if so, what was it like?

I had my baby there a few months ago and the service was excellent. It is a really clean and modern hospital and the staff are all lovely, I prefer it to the other hospitals in London.

Hi all,

I am 17 months pregnant with identical twins and having my babies at Chelsea and Westminster hospital. I was just wondering if anyone here had a consultant at C&W called Millicent Nwandison, and what their experience was like? Thank you!

I had our daughter there in 2019 and have gone back there for my current pregnancy. I really rate the care I received and thought the staff were lovely. I had a difficult birth (baby in a tricky position) and felt very well looked after.

That's really great to hear EarlGreywithLemon. Do you mind me asking which, if any, consultant you had at C&W? I'm expecting twins which makes it a high-risk pregnancy, but I've been told I could potentially have the babies delivered by a registrar on the day, which did not fill me with a lot of confidence as they are technically still doctors in training.

I’m at West Middlesex (C&W sister site) and the lead on my notes is listed as Millicent Nwandison - I’ve never met her and only had 1 appointment with a consultant (forgot her name but she was pleasant and professional) before being discharged into midwife led care.

Probably not very useful information but thought to share 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've used both St Mary's and Chelsea and Westminster.
St Mary's has an amazing birthing centre. But that is only if you are having a straight forward birth. Their labour ward is small and dirty. I had my 1st un th labour ward and 3rd in the birthing centre.
Chelsea and Westminster is spacious and clean but they didn't have a bed when I was in labour and had to wait in the public waiting room trying not to make noises in front of other people. They also didn't follow the birthing plan. Their aftercare is really good though. They didn't rush me out of the labour room and the postnatal ward was bigger than St Mary's.

Hello

I hope all went well with your pregnancies. I am assigned Dr Millicent Nwandison at Chelsea & Westminster so I am curious to hear if she was the one that delivered your babies? I expect twins as well.

Any information would be much appreciated.
