JARM · 26/11/2007 15:42

Ok, so due today and feeling mightily pissed off.

All docs and midwives have said from about 33 weeks I would probably be early.... and im still here!

I know pregnancy is anywhere from 37-42 weeks, but Im so bloody fed up and sore now, someone PLEASE give me a kick up the arse to cheer up.

Im depressed already and I havent even had the baby!!!

chin up - it'll happen ! good luck !

needmorecoffee · 26/11/2007 15:44

This'll depress you...I went to 42 weeks!
Think of it as time when you can loll around (if you don't have other kids) before you're up to your eyeballs in nappies and milk
I wish I'd made the most of my 'extra time'

bobsmum · 26/11/2007 15:44

I've always sworn blind that a stint of late night shopping with a family size bucket from KFC is what kick started things for me.

Mmmmm KFC.....

hildegard · 26/11/2007 15:44

I am sympathising away. I remember that feeling SO well. What are you up to today? I was due on New Year's Eve and was so convinced that I was going to be early that I failed to book anything to do and we sat at home looking at each other.

mishymoo · 26/11/2007 15:44

Oh hang in there - you haven't got much longer! I remember when I passed my due date, feeling exactly like you were (I suffered with sciatica) but less than two weeks later, I was holding my gorgeous DS in my arms!

fryalot · 26/11/2007 15:45

well... am not going to give you a kick up the arse. Not sure that you're allowed to do that to heavily pregnant people

But... you can have this and this instead

JARM · 26/11/2007 15:47

THanks girls.

Im not up to anything, got 2 toddlers at home and DH is doing a sterling job keeping them entertained!

Im bored of sex and nipple stim - all it does is give me hours of on-off contractions that come to nothing and then im knackered because ive been up all night!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Why doesnt this little boy want to make his appearance..... after 2 girls he is so eagerly awaited!!!

Maybe a walk along the seafront tonight is in order to calm me down

Good idea!! Didn't realise you were due already tbh - thought you weren't due until mid-December (I'll shut up now as I bet I'm not helping)

JARM · 26/11/2007 15:57

lol miaou!

I wish in some ways i wasnt due til mid december but in others Im feeling so rough I want this baby out!!!

DH is putting tea on now so we can eat early, get down the front for a walk and then get girls bathed and into bed.

I'm due on Wednesday and feel just as frustrated. Like you I was convinced this baby would be early (dd was 5 days late) as have felt enormous for weeks now - whole pelvis feels like it is ready to burst open any minute!

Last night I had mild crampy things all night and got all excited thinking it was 'the start' but today - bugger all.

JARM · 26/11/2007 20:01

labour twins then bumble!

It is such a pain in the bum(p) feeling like this! DD2 was 3 days late, so if i follow that pattern, ill pop on thursday/friday.

Got it in my head it will be saturday though as supposed to pick up new (well old but new for me) car at 10am!!!

edam · 26/11/2007 20:03

I stupidly ran for a bus to get to a midwife's appointment when ds was a week late. Went into labour the same day. Although that could have had something to do with the sweep, of course!

Chin up, sweetie, it will happen (eventually...)

JARM · 26/11/2007 20:19

Thanks edam..... maybe thats the next plan - go for a run!!!

Didnt go for a walk in the end, had a long bath and dried and straightened my hair instead - thought if i looked presentable he might make an appearance!!! hahahaha

JARM - I don't know WHY midwives say things like, oh this one's going to come early - don't they know the misery they can cause??

I was told DD would be out any day now at 37 weeks and she was 2 weeks late - I completely blame the mw for the madness that ensued from 40 weeks onwards..

Can you recalculate your DD to be 42 weeks and assume the baby won't be here until then - that way he'll be 'early' if he comes before then?

Sounds better to me than EIGHT hours of nipple stim, clara

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 10:45

I thought nipple stim was just playing with them. Never realised there was an art to it (according to Babycentre!).

sweetkitty · 27/11/2007 10:53

Oh I SO know how you feel DD1 was 15 days early and I thought well I will be early again or at least on time, oh no 12 days late and I felt every single day it was like a week, couldn't move because of SPD as well.

IMHO nothing works the little blighters do come when they are ready but

JARM · 27/11/2007 16:01

Theres a knack to nipple stim?! Someone tell me more!!!

OP posts:
Olihan · 27/11/2007 16:11

The day after my EDD with ds2 I did nipple stimulation with a breastpump and went into labour immediately - as in he was born less than 3 hours after I did the stimulation . This was a few hours after I'd seen the mw who had refused to do a sweep because ds2 wasn't even engaged. So there's always hope.

The info I had was to do one side at a time (you can distress the baby if you do both sides apparently) for 15 mins, then swap sides for another 15 mins, swap again for a total of an hour and a half. I got bored after about 45 mins but it still worked.

(Before you get your hopes up too high, I should probably say I also did it loads when dd was late and it did nothing, akthough I was 3-4cms dilated when I went in for my induction. I think, like all the DIY induction stuff, it only really works if your body is on the verge og going into labour anyway.)

JARM · 27/11/2007 21:03

Well not so pissed off now, had a lovely pamper afternoon by getting my hair cut, and ive just had a show, so i know things are moving!!

YAY!
