Hello,

I'm very early on in our journey (currently TTC) so not visited the hospital yet but already worrying about the birth and more so the post natal experience as I've heard some shockers about how horrendous the wards can be. I can't find anything online about how expensive the private rooms are at GWH, it just says to ask your midwife at the hospital. I know they can't guarantee a room as it's down to availability but I'm interested to know whether it's something we will be able to consider when the time comes if there is one available.
Has anyone used one recently?
Thank you!

Hi, I had my LB at GWH back in 2018 and we had to pay £200 for the private room, this covers the full stay so even if there one day or 3 you won’t pay anymore than that, though that price was 2 year’s ago so not sure if changed. We opted for a private room as I was really exhausted and just wanted some quiet time as the birth was quite traumatic in the end and also Hubby was allowed To stay overnight with me in the room. I’m currently 34 weeks and spoke to my midwife a few weeks ago about private rooms and they currently didn’t have any available due to covid. This could change by the time you have your baby but worth checking with your midwife now re if cost has changed and availability. I’m planning to have my next baby in the white horse centre depending on availability.
