Waters broke and re sealed??

Hi everyone, I'm just looking for some advice! This is my first pregnancy, I'm 39+4

I woke up this morning I lost my mucus plug and my waters were leaking, about an hour later they popped and gushed onto the floor. I called my labour ward who booked me an appointment for this afternoon.

I've not long got home from the hospital but they basically checked me over and swabbed me, they told me my waters haven't gone yet even though I'm 100% certain they have and my partner saw too! She said they have possibly sealed themselves back up?? I've got a lot of period type pain and blood and mucus leaking a lot!

I was told I'd need to go back in the morning for monitoring and possibly induction due to the risk of infection but I have now been sent home with no follow on plan and just see how I go.

What are the chances of going into labour in the next 24/48 hours? I feel pretty stressed out about the whole situation.

Thank you!

My friend had a similar thing and was sent home then the following night she had it happen again and labour started. I would just keep hassling them if you have any sign you’re in labour or any more blood etc. Hope it all goes smoothly for you

They did this to me. My waters had gone, they checked me and said nope they haven't. They kept leaking at home for the next 3 days so I knew they had, when I was induced 6 days later every midwife I spoke to admitted they had probably made a mistake. I'd call them again and ask to be checked again instead of dragging out the whole process x

How are things today @melb22880? Have things progressed? Smile

Thanks for your replies!

I actually went into labour later that evening, it was very slow and drawn out the whole thing lasted around 30 hours but I had my baby Sunday morning at 7.15am and couldn't be happier!
