When you go in for an elective section? I understand if there were emergencies etc they'd go first but if we've been asked to go in at 12 will I be one of a few women also going in at 12? It's at St Mary's Manchester on Tuesday, can't wait! My last birth was a very panicky emergency so I'm hoping fir a much calmer experience this time 🤞

I haven’t had mine yet but at my hospital (quite small) they do 4 per day. I’ve to be in at 7am and there are other planned sections who come in for 11am so I’m presuming mine will be done between 9-11/12, so maybe a couple of hours waiting. Will be so nervous by the time im in there I think I’d rather be first. Good luck, hope it’s a lovely calm experience

When I was in for my planned c section, I arrived at 7am there were 3 women including me, we were then assessed to plan the order of surgery.

I was 2nd on the list and went into theatre at 10.50am so not too long. I just watched some catchup TV before, it was actually quite a chilled waiting experience.

I remember the nurse saying that they break for lunch so you could be planned for pretty soon after lunch if you've been told to go in at 12.

I had to go in for 7.30am, 2 other women arrived at the same time. I was told they were very busy and may not be able to fit me in until the afternoon, but I was taken down at 11.15am which wasn't bad at all.

@boymama82 aww I’m having my third baby at the same place, it’s such a lovely hospital, had my other two there.
However sorry no experience of a section there but I’m sure you won’t be waiting too long xx

Asked to come in at 7:30, prepped for theatre by 8:15, baby born at 9 Smile no reason why I needed to be first on the list but very lucky. It was a lovely experience

Different hospital but I arrived at 7am & baby born at 10.17am. One person in front of me which was private health care. I was prepared for a long wait so surprised when they took me and i walked to the theatre and waited at the door whilst DH put my bags in the recovery ward.
Good luck. Hope all goes well
