Stretch and sweep

Hey all 🥰 I'm 37 + 4 with my first baby and had a sweep today. Doc said baby is very low and cervix is thin and soft. That was about 6/7 hours ago.

I came home, had sex with hubby and bounced on the ball for an hour or so.
Im not sure if I had a bloody show or it was just spotting from the sweep 🤔 it was pink, but there on my underwear and there when I wiped.

I'm now having some lower back pain. Mild but defo having some. Do you think I could be starting?

Has anyone had a successful sweep at this stage?

Yes. Within 9 hours of the sweep, my waters broke with my first. Took 3 hours with my second dc. I had a bloody show around and hour after both so knew it was starting up. Back pain is usually a good sign too. Get some sleep and relax. Good luck

@Brusselsprouts21 thanks for your reply. I went to bed after this but pain seems to have disappeared after I stopped bouncing on my ball and went to bed 😢 trying not to give up hope that pains return again If I get up and bounce again later 🤷‍♀️

Really don't want to be induced next week (extra fluid around baby!) so hoping this works!

It's been about 12 hours since my sweep !

I had a sweep with both babies but the first I was already in labour with (it just hurried things along) but the second I had a sweep to induce labour.

I had the sweep on the Monday, had contractions all night Tuesday night, went into hospital early Wednesday morning, and had another sweep as I was dilating.

They then kept me on the ward all day Wednesday and ds was finally born that evening at 10.40 pm

As I'm lying here I'm starting to get an achey period like pain so here's hoping!

How far along we're you when you got your sweep on your second baby?

I was 37 weeks exactly when I was the sweep and he was born at 37+3
