Hi all.. im 33+4 today. I have a really sore stomach & heavy feeling around my lower belly/bump. Have took back pain for the first today aswell. Feels like strong period pains. Been there all day. Lastnight after the toilet i had what looked like very sticky/jelly-like discharge.. and again this morning.. could it have been part of my mucas plug? Or is this too soon? FTM please help 🥺

TIA xx

I would give the labour ward a call if I were you.

Hopefully it isn't early labour but if it is, steroid injections now would really help your baby.

I’d give your mid wife a quick call to check in to be safe, I wouldn’t worry too much about the discharge simply because you can lose your mucus plug early and I believe it can also regenerate but I’m sure someone with some medical back round will be able to clarify that! I’d def ring for peace of mind though just in case they want to check you over to be safe in case it is the startings of Labour! I have had that pressure feeling and pains too a number of weeks now, I am 38 weeks at this point, and so far nothing has come of it, but they also checked me over to be sure!

Hey, don't panic! Have you been in contact with the maternity unit to be assessed? If not I would give them a call and describe your symptoms and they may ask you to go in.

I had my first daughter in January but was induced - but from what I remember reading you can lose your entire mucus plug or bits of it a few weeks before actually going into labour.

Let us know how you get on :)

Worth giving them a call for advice OP.

Try not to panic, like pp said I'm sure you can lose your plug/ it regenerates.

Call your midwife or triage and see what they say to put your mind at ease.

@Julybaby2021 I'm also 33+4 today and have had the same types of pains as you have described. I would give triage a call and see what they say. Your plug can grow back apparently or it can be lost over a few weeks. I'm being closely monitored so have been in today and they weren't concerned about the period type pains... but that's just me. Give them a call to put your mind at rest

Thanks everyone for your replies. I went to the EOU lastnight. Checked me over. I have a urine infection. Which they said can cause those pains. Everything else is fine. So im on antibiotics now. Hopefully they will help 🙏
