Wee or waters?!

Hi all, this is my first post! I am 40+2 weeks pregnant. This morning at about 7.30 I felt what I though was a leak of amniotic fluid and then again at 8.30 and 10.30. Each time it soaked one of the little panty liners. Trouble is that I can’t work out if it was pee and baby’s head is on my bladder or if it’s my waters? Didn’t smell like pee to me but I’m not sure. I also lost a large bit of my plug this morning too and then some smaller bits throughout the day.
I have not had any proper contractions, only braxton hicks for the last 2 weeks.
Anyone had any similar experiences? I’m wondering if I should call the midwife or not as I went exactly a week ago for what I thought was weird discharge and it was a false alarm. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Raaachel Eeeek that's a good sign! Hopefully not long before you have that little baba in your arms 🥰

Raaachel · 21/05/2021 14:53

Fingers crossed, I'm very impatient haha 😊 xx

I shared my story near the beginning of the thread. That baby is now 4 and is also a Rachel. We've had so many comments about how uncommon the name is but I think it's beautiful and classic. Here's hoping your little one arrives soon

MyGrassIsBrowner · 21/05/2021 17:42

@BabyMoonPie oh my no way? That's so cool 😁 I always thought Rachel was a fairly common name, but I rarely come across other Rachels - hence my excitement haha. (Or maybe I dont get out enough) 😂 x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 21/05/2021 17:43

@Raaachel I'm so impatient too ha! Must be a Rachel trait 🤭 x

Raaachel · 21/05/2021 17:46

Haha I had 3 Rachel's in my class at school so it must've been common the year I was born! 😂 xx

I think she's 41 weeks now.

Phone your midwife in the morning and see if she can book you in ASAP. Poor love, really feel for you xxx

Raaachel · 23/05/2021 13:18

@Lullabymummy17 @MyGrassIsBrowner Yeah I'm 40+6 today 😣 thanks, I'll give her a call first thing xx

@Raaachel Oh my bad!! God yes you need to get onto them asap as they should have offered you one already, bloody buggars! Xxx

MyGrassIsBrowner · 23/05/2021 13:23

@Raaachel if you have one and she says your 1-2cm dilated, there's a good chance the sweep could work. I ended up having two but the 2nd sweep was done by one of the more experienced midwives and I told her to go to town on me 😂 xx

😂 I'll ask for the same! I'm hoping I am at least 1-2cm dilated as I've lost my plug and had a full day of contractions yesterday 🤞 Barely any today, that's why I'm so frustrated 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Raaachel I didn't find mine too painful, a little uncomfortable but it's worth it haha.
Oh you poor thing, I can totally understand your frustration! I actually went into labour at 40+6 myself! Good luck and keep us updated 😊 xx

Raaachel · 24/05/2021 10:25

Hi all! I called up the community midwife this morning and managed to get an appointment for 9am! Thought it would just be a consultation but she gave me a sweep! Hopefully we're on our way now ☺️ xx

@Raaachel hey chick just seen your update, how are you feeling now?? Any progress?
I had my 20 week scan yesterday and we're having another girl! Totally mind boggling 🙉 xx

Raaachel · 30/05/2021 05:02

Hi all! Baby update! Freya was born by emergency section on Wednesday and is doing great! We're in hospital still due to her needing preventative antibiotics for 5 days but other than that we're all good 😊
Needed a c-section as she was 9lb9oz and got her head stuck 😂 coming home on Monday! 🎉
Thanks everyone for your help! Turns out the time you think you waters actually haven't broken is the time they have 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

@Raaachel OMGGGGG Congratulations! 😍 Freya, what a lovely name!!
So glad you and baby are well. Wowza 9lb 9oz what a chunk hehe! My DD was 8lb 6oz and that was a mission to birth her 🙈

Hope your DP is on hand to help, time for you to take it easy now!
What lovely news to wake up to 😊💖

BabyMoonPie · 30/05/2021 07:39
