Hypnobirthing books/podcasts

Hey! This is my 2nd birth, was fortunate with my first childbirth managed to get through a 30 hour labour on gas and air only, but I was also only 20 years of age, oblivious to what I was actually doing and luckily no complications.

12 years later I’m 32 and absolutely bricking the childbirth!! A few people have mentioned hypnobirthing. Honestly I couldn’t think of anything worse than paying to go on a course and sitting in a room full of strangers, so been looking at books on it or podcasts but there’s LOADS!!

Any recommendations which ones are best ?

Thanks 😊

I used natal hypnotherapy CDs (it was a while ago Grin ) and used to listen to them a few times a week. I think they really helped relax me and the birth was a lot easier than the first one

I've used the Positive Birth Company digital pack and the Katherine Greaves book/mp3s. Both were good, the relaxations are pretty similar really - although I'd say the PBC background piano music is marginally less annoying! Essentially I guess it depends on whether you want your info in a book or via videos.

Currently reading and loving Natal Hypnotherapy and have the downloads - Maggie Howell. Also have mindful birthing by Nancy Bardacke. Both books recommended on here after I started a thread. Planning on doing the bump to baby chapter course but heard really good thing about the positive birth co. too.
