Hi - I am having a bit of a difficult time at the moment. Waters broke at 34+6, now 35+1. My booked in hospital couldn't take me as their SCBU is closed to new admissions so I had to be transferred an hour away to Calderdale. Labour didn't progress despite some contractions and so I went home after 24 hrs. Had to come back to local hospital this morning with contractions and they were v positive that SCBu could make room for my baby if I did deliver. However they've just been to see me to say sorry, no can do, we want to move you again, this time to Barnsley. I had a previous birth at Rotherham and am desperate not sure o go back to South Yorkshire. The thought makes me really anxious. Obviously, I will if I have to and am trying to mentally prepare. Contractions have almost totally eased off after paracetamol so I am asking to go home instead and to come back if needed but in case I can't, please could I have some opinions on giving birth at Barnsley? Thanks loads in advance.

I gave birth at Pinderfields but I’m equal distance from Pinders and Barnsley so could have chosen either. I never went to Barnsley but all my friends who did told me I made the wrong choice and I should have. I’ve only heard positives about it. You used to be able to find reviews on the Which website for maternity wards not sure if you still can, good luck with everything!

A few days late but I can only say wonderful things at Barnsley. They were amazing with me and my baby. Right midwife for birth, amazing care but pre and post labour. I hope everything is going/ has gone well.
