Anyone getting postpartum cramps? I’ve been getting badddd postpartum cramps and even worse when breastfeeding.. anyone else getting them?
Don’t think I had any or not as painful with my first baby.
Giving birth was hard enough now I’m getting these pains 😭

Yes! On day 2 with DC2 and cramps getting worse with every feed - its a thing.

Yes, I think it’s your uterus shrinking back, and it’s more intense with second kids and onwards, and when breastfeeding because the oxytocin causes small uterine contractions (it’s meant to!). All normal, albeit frustrating. Ibuprofen can help take the edge off, and the cramping should subside within about a week as I recall. Congrats on the new baby!

Hiya, congratulations! Yes, my little one is four weeks now and I remember the cramps were so bad! They felt like really strong contractions, I also didn't experience them with my first baby. I asked the health visitor and she said the more babies you gave the worse they get 😧😧

I took paracetamol for pain relief, hope you are feeling better soon! x

Sorry I meant the more babies you have*

They get worse with each birth . Each excruciating squeeze should be regarded as progress towards your body feeling more normal. The hormones you release BF cause the squeeze , but stick with it as nature’s doing it’s thing and will have you right in no time. Must admit , I hated breast feeding but I can’t deny the accelerated reshrinking compared to my bottle baby. Congratulations on your new arrival btw. Sounds like you’re doing really well Smile
