Contractions not progressing

Just wondered if this happened to anyone else? With my first labour contractions had increased enough for me to go into hospital after 12 hours. In contrast I'm now almost 40 weeks and having contractions for the last day but not close enough together to go to the hospital, I'm at my wits end! I know you're meant to keep active etc and thankfully I did manage to sleep in-between contractions last night.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I had a stop start labour that kept kicking in at night 3 days before I gave birth ..when it finally ramped up a little on the last day and I went to hospital the midwife felt the baby and thought it’s head or shoulder was stuck at some point in my pelvis..like trying to get round a bend or something - I forget the specifics! She told me to get into a lunge position during a contraction..which was agony but I the went from 3cm to 10cm in an hour!

May be totally random but you could try different positions like lunge or squats during contractions..this was a static lunge by the way, holding the position holding onto something / one

Here’s a bit more info..this obviously was specific to me but this website has lots of tips for positions to try to get labour moving
