C Section positive videos?

Hello.

I'm due to have an NHS C Section with first baby in a few weeks and feeling very anxious. There are a few videos about C sections on YouTube and I'd like to watch something to help prepare positively, just can't tell what they will be like in advance and scared will be something too graphic or with information about what can go wrong.

Can anyone recommend the name of a positive C section video (ideally a UK NHS one but doesn't have to be) without anything too bad or graphic in it?

Thanks loads if anyone can recommend the name of something positive. It would be very helpful for me to focus on visualising it going well to reduce the anxiety.

X

Ps. I know things can go wrong with anything, just dont need any more of that in my mind right now.

Don't watch it (I've had 2) best thing was t knowing... why put yourself through it. If you have a section scheduled you'll be having appointments leading up to it so they'll tell you what will happen on the day. Stop torturing yourself.

I’m due my first baby in August. Spent my whole life being PETRIFIED about the being pregnant and giving birth thing. So far I’m quite enjoying the being pregnant part but I am beyond terrified of the idea of giving birth at the end so have asked for a section. My midwife has assured me it will be granted after I have a chat with my consultant. For my whole life I have had this obsession with watching these videos, the same way I’m almost so terrified it’s made me obsessed with needing to know everything 🙈 I looked up birth rights etc before getting pregnant so knew I would be able to get a section if I asked, or I genuinely wouldn’t have had any kids.

Anyway, I’ve seen all the videos youtube has to offer 🤣 I’d maybe avoid a graphic video of the actual procedure. The nhs hospitals all put on videos about what you can expect during your c section and they’re all straightforward and you don’t see anything gory. Now I’m pregnant I’m finding I don’t want to know the exact details of everything that will go on below that sheet. Youtubers I have watched videos from that have been positive c section stories are Jennifer Joy - the video is called my labour and cesarean story. Generally obsessed with her channel and she gives updates after her c section too. Another one who felt the same way as me is Eilidh Wells, there are three c section videos (one about recovery). I think they’re the most detailed accounts I’ve seen, both very positive 😊 you will be absolutely fine, if I can sign myself up for it anyone can get through it 🙈

Personally, having had a c-section, I wouldn't want to watch, even a positive video. I'd recommend going on YouTube and if you type in Playdough Surgery Caesarean Section, that makes for an interesting watch.
