Hi - everywhere I read that lochia should stop at 6 weeks.
I am 9 weeks post delivery and have incredibly light (bright red) bleeding. Not enough to even stain a panty liner but when I go to the loo and wipe (sorry tmi), blood is there. 2 nights ago i also had severe back pain (although i think that is because i have a baby that i am feeding/holding lots). I am pretty sure this isnt a period as is way too light and am also exclusive bfeeding, so would be surprised.

Is this normal? or should i go to the GP and get it checked out?

Sounds likea period to me . Was exclusively b'feeding but still came back at 6 then 9/10 weeks. They take a while to get back to "normal" if ever.

yep

sounds like a period to me too. mine were very different post partum to before. lighter and not as regular, and no tummy pain.

Again, sounds like a period.

My periods have changed after every child I have had and I have always had a period straight after the lochia stopped, so pretty much constant bleeding.

8-9 weeks was normal for me to be still bleeding lightly.

Then nothing for another 8 - 9 months when my periods returned, and it was very obvious it was a proper period !

I have a couple of fibroids which were picked up at my scans .. these can ofetn mean you bleed for a bit longer ans seemed to be true for me.

We all vary ... but mention it to your HV doctor if you feel the need.
