Not sure if this is even a thing but has anyone bought their partner anything that they can wear home from the hospital once the baby is born
It’s my husbands birthday just over a week before I’m due and I’d like to get him something special. Has anyone got any ideas?

I’m really not sure this is a thing for men. Dh would think it was the weirdest thing ever.

Garman · 08/03/2021 17:14

An outfit for your husband to wear home? From the hospital? Confused Sorry I have visions of a grown man in a special cute onesie and hat 😂

starfishmummy · 08/03/2021 17:14

Weird

Garman · 08/03/2021 17:15

And like, he's not going home from the hospital, do you expect him to change into it in the hospital to wear it home from there, after coming in his own clothes?

piglet81 · 08/03/2021 17:15

Never heard of anyone doing this. If you want to buy him clothes for his birthday then sure, but I don’t understand the connection with you giving birth...

NoBetterthanSheShouldBe · 08/03/2021 17:16

No that is bizarre. Also so much focus is on the baby right now he would probably appreciate something unrelated to the happy event.

UrsulaBee · 08/03/2021 17:16

So he gets changed when he comes to pick you up?

idontlikealdi · 08/03/2021 17:17

An outfit for your husband?!?!

I think your hormones may have stopped you over the edge.

activitythree · 08/03/2021 17:17

My husband just wore his clothes. Ordinary clothes. I didn't even. I left my my pyjamas Grin

eensyweensySpider · 08/03/2021 17:19

Erm...we threw a couple of clean t-shirts in for DH as he stayed in overnight with me but that was about it. He didn't even have the chance to freshen, just had a quick "deodorant break"
It's a nice sentiment though, I'm sure you are both very excited but I honestly think your best bet (for both of you & baby!) is something comfy and practical that's pretty effortless and easy to throw on.

Crumpydump · 08/03/2021 17:19

Unless the paparazzi are going to be parked outside the hospital then no. But you seem like a thoughtful person, so maybe a small gift to mark the occasion of him becoming a father might be nice. I'm not thoughtful so this wouldn't have occurred to me.

Luckyelephant1 · 08/03/2021 17:19

What? Do you mean like a novelty tshirt saying Daddy or something? If so....please don't!

haveapieceoftoast · 08/03/2021 17:19

hahaha what?!

whiteshark · 08/03/2021 17:20

Erm. No. That's not a thing. 😂

DavidsSchitt · 08/03/2021 17:20

😂 definitely get him a big onesie

FTEngineerM · 08/03/2021 17:21

Well I mean it would be great if your partner wasn’t naked leaving the hospital.

DavidsSchitt · 08/03/2021 17:21

This is nice Grin

Wut??

minniemoocher · 08/03/2021 17:22

Bizarre, and don't bother with a specific outfit for lo either, think comfy

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 08/03/2021 17:24

Bless you op

devildeepbluesea · 08/03/2021 17:24

It didn't even occur to me to get something special for DD. She was in a hand me down babygro. Me, I was in very loose joggers following an EMCS.

This is honestly one of the oddest things I've ever read on here.

Toomuchleopard · 08/03/2021 17:25

I don’t think any of you will need a special outfit as presumably you’ll just go home and no one will see you, especially in current COVID times Confused

Wondermule · 08/03/2021 17:26

Hmm maybe one of those babygrows with a tutu attached? Don’t forget the mittens and hat

Wondermule · 08/03/2021 17:27

Sorry Op couldn’t resist, i sort of know what you mean... ish Confused maybe a cheesy ‘dad’ t shirt..? If my sense of taste allows me to suggest such a thing!

ScarfaceCwaw · 08/03/2021 17:29

Bought their partner something to wear?

Are you under the impression there's going to be some sort of parade?

Both of you will probably have been hanging around the hospital for some days, one of you will have been sleeping in a chair and the other will have either just had surgery or pushed something colossal out of an orifice. Do you really think you're going to want to dress up?
