Have you had two similar induction experiences?

I was induced with DS2 at 39 weeks due to high bp. I had the pessary, despite it falling out after a couple of hours I went into labour anyway. Pessary was inserted at around 10.30, contractions started at about 3am, baby born at 7.40am. It was all very straight forward and a lovely experience (in comparison to DS1, spontaneous back to back labour at 36 weeks).

I’m just wondering if my body’s reaction to the pessary is likely to be the same again, or is that I was probably going into labour anyway so that sped things up. I’ve got an induction booked on my due date due to high bp, which has actually been under control without the need for medication but due to movement concerns I have an appointment with my consultant to potentially bring it forward. I’m eager to go into labour on my own so will be having a sweep at 38 weeks (which will be in 2 weeks time, I’m 36+2 now). I’m just hoping the induction experience, should I need one, is similar to what I had with DS2.

My 3 inductions have all been different.

1, 42wks. Shit. Pessary at tea time, contractions started soon after. Ended up on drip and epidural. Baby was back to back, she was ventoused out in theatre.

1. Spontaneous at 40+9

1. Induced at 42wks. They broke my waters and she was born 2hrs later.

1. Induced at 40wks due to size (so early for me) waters were broken but nothing happened. I was put on drip (asked for epidural to be in first) drip in at 11. Established labour 2am, baby born 6am. Very peaceful birth.

So whilst all different I would say 3 and 4 were both positive. I obviously don't know but i would have thought yours would be similar/better than DS2 if only that you're slightly readier at 40wks

Expecting DC5 and expecting to be induced again. Living in hope she will slip out in the bath at 39+6 though 😂
