Second induction stories

Hey all just looking to hear experiences if you got induced twice. How the second time went compared to the first?

39 weeks pregnant and being induced tomorrow baby is measuring just under 10th percentile after having growth scans every two weeks. He's still growing but would rather me to be induced early.
(Also haven't got gestational diabetes this time round)

First induction was a traumatic experience he was born at 10lbs 4 (they never picked up on my gestational diabetes until after the birth), back to back labour only gas & air took three days to come after induction, second degree tear, episiotomy, born not breathing.

I've been induced 3 times (4 births)

Dd1 was induced at 42wks pessary then drip, she was back to back, didn't turn or descend, was ventoused out in theatre, I was left with a third degree tear and episiotomy and minor pph. She was thankfully fine but I struggled.

Dd2 came spontaneously 9 days over.

Dd3 was induced at 42wks, they broke my waters and she was born 2hrs later.

DS was induced at 40wks due to size (big but no GD), this was "early" for me so took a while to get going, my waters were broken but nothing happened. They wanted to put me on the drip but due to my experience with DD1 (no break between contractions) i wanted an epidural in before it was started. I know lots of people are ok (dd3 was gas and air) but I am glad I did because my contractions quickly went from 4 in 10mins to 6 in 10mins with no break. DS was born 4hrs after I got to 4in 10, he moved down by himself and when they finally checked me (waters were broken at 4pm and I had no internals until 6am) he was minutes/inches away from being born. So again a far easier induction than dd1.

I'm expecting again in June and I expect I will be induced again. Either at 40wks due to size again or 41wks because I'm 41 and I've never had a baby before 41wks.

Good luck OP! All my births, induced or otherwise have been far far better than my first.

Induced 3 times Sad

All at around 41w4/5days. Doctors just went berserk and forced me to have induction.....

1st one was the worst. Felt like my body just wasn't ready for labour Sad pessary twice, drip. Took 2 days, had to have epidural to sleep. Was not pushing properly and baby was delivered with ventouse and 2 nurses pushing HARD on my tummy Confused

2nd was best. Doctor broke waters, was on drip and gave birth in 5 hours. Lovely! Felt like I really connected with the birth, felt animalistic and natural Grin

3rd doctors insisted on induction AGAIN but there was no room available so stayed in hospital for ages waiting and baby chose her birthday Smile things were going great until midwife decided to break waters (WHY????!!!!!). Had one horrible 15min long contraction and baby was out. Baby was in distress, they had to call crash team.

Well..... good luck!

Tbh, I have refused pessary/tape/wtv after the first. Asked for baloon but wasn't advisable for some reason. Before child no2 a gyno doctor told me that she refused pessary for her own labour and preferred Csection instead!!! Food for thought......
