Labia tear during birth

I gave birth 12 days ago and tore my labia. I was not stitched. Today I have looked with a mirror and if I move my cliterus to the side it looks like one big hole (my vagina hole all the way to the top by the cliterus). Is this normal and will this heal on its own? How long and what can I do to help? X

This happened to me with my second as he crowned so quickly. It was very unpleasant. To almost 4 weeks to heal and it's left a scar that looks a bit like a stretch Mark. I just cleaned with salt water several times a day and kept it as clean as I could.

I also had a labial tear which wasn't stitched. The midwife described it as if you had cut the stretchy bit of skin at the bottom between thumb and finger.... the reality was far sorer though!

Mine did heal on its own after a few weeks. Its got a kind of red raised scar bit now though.

Thank you. I’m just over 2 weeks pp and the pain is easing so hopefully it’s healing xx
