Girls I’ve finally braved to look down below with a mirror at my stitches. It looks really open and not been stitched. Not sure if it usually looks like this but I definitely think it doesn’t is this normal? I think it’s the Labia. Like if I move the clit to the side it literally looks like one big hole? I gave birth 12 days ago x

I had stitches with DC1 and chose not to with DC2. Tore both times. Didn't look because I'm squeamish.

Just don't look until you heal - why would you anyway?! Do you peer down there as a daily thing?😷

I had an episiotomy and 2nd degree tear with my first. Stitches didn't look right to me so asked midwife to check when she came out and after that asked a doctor to check. They said it looked fine to them and healthy. It did heal up better but certainly not the same as before. Worth getting it checked now x

I called my midwife and she said they won’t do anything until the 6 weeks check anyway x

You need to give yourself time to heal. It won't look great down there yet, it's very soon after the birth. Ask at Yr 6 weeks check.

Sounds like mine, took about 4 months to look like it did pre-baby.

My external stitches come undone and got infected but it healed eventually.
