Does anything have experience with either Kumar Kunde or Con Kelleher, in particular for c sections?

Bump

Spaghetti0 · 08/06/2022 20:15

I had a different and straightforward procedure with Kumar Kunde two years ago. All went well. But can’t help in relation to c-sections.
but this should bump and maybe someone else will come along..

pocpocpoc · 08/06/2022 20:23

Kumar Kunde is the most wonderful doctor with the most wonderful beside manner.

L4UX · 08/06/2022 22:28

Thank you for your reply. I had William Dennes perform my c section and couldn’t fault him

What does that mean? Could you please elaborate on your experience? I only see the same thing written everywhere about him "wonderful" "great bedside manner"

Blackheathmom · 09/06/2022 05:57

Thanks! Why didn't you go with Kunde or Con out of curiosity?

L4UX · 09/06/2022 09:46

Kunde secretary was very rude and unhelpful. Con wasn’t operating at any hospitals local to me. I had William Dennes at the Portland

yes I have heard this about his secretary numerous times from other people

pocpocpoc · 09/06/2022 13:12

I was supposed to have a natural birth under his care, but when things didn't go to plan he was very calm and decisive in preparing me for an emergency C-section. During the 'final' check, he realised that there was still an opportunity for a natural birth, which he took advantage of. He seemed genuinely happy and pleased with it, well beyond what would be expected from a professional who has overseen tens of thousands of births, he did seem like someone who loves and enjoys his job.

pocpocpoc · 09/06/2022 13:12

Ditto re secretary.

pocpocpoc · 09/06/2022 13:17

Without going into too much detail, I've seen him for a case (not for birth) where several doctors couldn't diagnose me and outright dismissed my problem as imagined. He was puzzled at first but wouldn't give up until he found the cause and sorted it. The whole thing took him 2 weeks, I was in pain for over a year prior to meeting him.

MummyDiaries · 09/03/2023 11:36

Hi All, hoping you can help with some reassurance. I’ve just had my initial consultation with Dr Con Kelleher and he looks like a lovely person with good manners. Got a really good vibe from him. This is my first pregnancy and it’s been a long journey for us to get here so I am extra anxious hence the following question as silly as it may sound.

Dr K did not have a proper ultrasound machine in his clinic where I would be seeing him going forward. Instead he had a device that connected to his smart phone where he showed me the baby. I also understand that he will refer me to the Fetal Medical Centre for all scans going forward. As I said I have no prior experience but it felt really weird that as my Obstetrician he wouldn’t do all my scans, like that’s part of the expertise I’m getting I would’ve thought? My main worry is that he may “miss” something on his tiny phone screen that doesn’t give the full scan experience… Or that he will see and have to interpret second hand results that he gets from the FMC. 😕

I’m planning to talk to him about it next time I see him but it won’t be for another 4 weeks and I am now stressing over if I should go with another consultant before it’s too late?

HJA87 · 14/03/2023 22:38

Hi @MummyDiaries

Mr Kelleher delivered my daughter 2 years ago and I’m seeing him again now for my second pregnancy. He’s an amazing consultant and I wouldn’t go anywhere else to have my baby. I wouldn’t let the ultrasound situation put me off. As far as I know, most OBs refer patients for scans to an external clinic and Fetal medicine centre is actually the best you can get. It’s run by doctors who specialise in sonography which most OBs do not. Mr Kelleher will not be interpreting the results of the scans, the FMC doctors will. He will just review their report. Honestly, you’re in the best hands seeing both Mr K and the doctors at the FMC. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Blackheathmom · 15/03/2023 03:25

How was dr Kelleher for questions postnatally?

MummyDiaries · 15/03/2023 08:39

@HJA87 Thank you so much this is so helpful and very reassuring. 🙏🏼

HJA87 · 15/03/2023 10:30

@MummyDiaries no worries, glad it helped. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and maybe see you around in Mr K’s waiting room 😉

MummyDiaries · 15/03/2023 11:47

@HJA87 would be lovely 😊 I may also DM you later for some educational prenatal processes related questions if that’s ok? 😅

HJA87 · 16/03/2023 07:50

@MummyDiaries yes of course, please feel free to message!

Redvelvetcupcke · 02/10/2023 16:46

@MummyDiaries I was wondering if you went with Dr Kunde in the end as I'm also considering seeing him for ELCS at St Thomas. It's my first pregnancy after years of trying and multiple IVFs as well and I'm 43 so quite anxious. I'm considering between Dr Kunde at St Thomas or Shane Duffy at C&W. Many thanks

Blackheathmom · 02/10/2023 20:03

For what it's worth I had Kunde for my ELCS birth last year and he was great

MummyDiaries · 02/10/2023 20:15

@Redvelvetcupcke I went with Dr Kelleher but heard great things about Dr Kunde too!

MeandSparkle · 21/10/2023 14:24

I had a meet and greet with dr Kunde this week. I also found his secretary rude.. dr Kunde wasn’t too friendly I must say. I was a bit surprised as I had to do all the talking. I think he might have been having a bad day though as everyone says he’s lovely.

ill still go with him for an ELCS based on the reviews and his experience.

BeFancyGreyPeer · 09/08/2024 17:12

My daughter was looked after by Con Kelleher throughout her pregnancy and he delivered our beautiful grandchild. I would not recommend him he was as always preoccupied during consultations and I often had to question his commitment to my daughters care. I got the feeling that the payment of fees mattered more to him than the care that he was providing

Vivzb · 13/01/2025 15:03

Hey did you go with him in the end? How was it?

L4UX · 13/01/2025 18:34

Hi I actually went with William Dennes, couldn’t fault him at all!
