Forcep mark won’t go away!?

My daughter had two red lines running through the left side of her face due to forceps. I was told they will go away within two days unfortunately that mark now has become dark. Looks like they pinched her skin and it’s become a scar. Anyone have any experience and how long does it take to go? She’s 6 weeks.

Has GP / HV seen it?

I would ask your HV/GP/midwife in first instance, but at my christening, I looked like a vulcan with a whacking great V on my forehead from the forceps. I must have been just shy of 3 months then. Rest assured I look perfectly normal now!

@1940s yep the Gp has seen it, not HV as I haven’t seen one face to face yet due to Covid. Midwife said it will go though but there is no sign of it fading.

My mother said my dd looked like she’d been in a prize fight after her birth. Marks faded within a few weeks.

@angstridden2 lool glad the marks are gone. With my DD it’s been 6 weeks and the mark looks as darks as it did in the first week.

Hi, my Little one has the same mark from forceps. Can you please let me know if it went away ? I am very worried. If yes, at what age ?
