Car seat & isofix base issue - please help!

Hello lovelies! I hope you’re all well 💕

I have a dilemma which is stressing me out more than it should lol. I bought the Icklebubba Stomp V3 with the Mercury iSize car seat with the isofix. I stupidly attached the car seat the wrong way around - I knew it was rear facing only but managed to attach it forward facing 🤦🏾‍♀️

It now is stuck and the back clips will not come out, I think because it needs to slip out backwards but there’s a handle that stops it from doing so. We’ve been struggling with it for 4 hours with no luck! We’ve tried everything, even tried opening up the car seat and the isofix base but still no way to get to the clips to manually detach it. Been scrolling on the internet with the hope that someone somewhere has had a similar problem and fixed it, but no one seems to have done so. I have now emailed Icklebubba but worried they may turn around and say that since it’s not a product issue, they won’t help.

I’m currently 37+2 with my first and been having a feeling he might come early! So slightly panicked that I’m unprepared. Has anyone gone through something similar or know anyone who has???

Thanks in advance xx

A picture might help show what you mean. Is it a 360 seat, is it the seat or the base that is wrong , I’m assuming seat because base would be obvious. There is sometimes a release button on the base that needs pressed to get the seat off.

Have you tried removing the base from the car, it might be easier to release it from the base that way.

When you say there is a handle in the way, what handle is this?

I've heard of other people struggling to remove this seat from the base even when it's the right way around so it's probably not you! Plus it's a bit of a Design flaw that it can even attach that way.

It's an infant carry seat and base combo, Louise.

Thanks for the reply 💕

We've not even put it in the car yet! Literally took it out the box and clipped it in to try it. I don't know WHAT possessed me to clip it in the wrong way.

We've tried looking at YouTube videos and searching threads online but they all show the removal of a car seat that's been attached correctly 😂

It's not letting me attach a picture for some reason!

I actually have the same model and am 38+4. I did the same thing when it arrived 😂 DH wasn't best pleased but then he never reads instructions either! With a lot of brute force and pushing all the levers and buttons I could see it finally came off.
Good luck!

Ah right how annoying :o Are you new to the site as I think sometimes it takes a while for you to be allowed to add photos.

You could upload it somewhere else like imgur or photobucket and then share the link maybe?

BertieBotts · 05/02/2021 10:49

Always read the instructions for the car seat! It's a piece of equipment that could save your baby's life but only if used correctly :) (I appreciate that putting it in the wrong way round is more of a brain fart moment than not reading the instructions! It's useful for things like when to adjust the straps, remove inserts etc though.)

We've got the ickle bubba v3 and DH found it tricky to sort the isofix base at first. Not sure if he's tried it with the car seat yet. I've noticed that putting the car seat on to the frame is quite hard to do. I'm hoping it will become easier the more we do it!

Is this the base? If so could one of you pull or push on the grey bit that looks like it has a hand space. And the other one lift and angle the seat but not in a forward backward way more angle off to the side like swaying side to side.
